MOROCCAN LEATHER HANDBAGS

A leather handbag is chosen twice: once for the shape, once for the material. This collection holds totes, bucket bags, shoulder bags and structured carriers, cut from full-grain goat or cowhide and stitched by hand in workshops in Marrakesh. Goat leather is soft and light. It sits well on the shoulder and marks quickly, and that is where its character comes from. Cowhide is thicker and firmer. It holds its shape for years and carries weight without sagging. Finishes change from piece to piece, padlock closure, removable strap, bronze hardware, because each one is assembled individually. Variation in tone and grain comes from the hide itself, not from a fault.
