LEATHER CASES AND SMALL GOODS
LEATHER CASES AND SMALL GOODS
The small pieces come from the offcuts of the large ones. A hide never cuts without remainder, and in a Moroccan workshop that remainder does not go in the bin. It becomes a glasses case, a pouch, a card holder, in goat leather where softness matters and cowhide where structure does. It is also the cheapest way to judge our work. A case costs a fraction of a bag and reads in exactly the same way: the evenness of the stitch, the finish on the edge, how the leather folds without cracking. If the case convinces you, the bag will. Some pieces are finished with a visible saddle stitch, others hand-bound at the edge.
